The Cat has a message for his fans......

Just a quick note to let all my female fans know that the cat will be back New
Years Day Thorney park 10 30 a.m.
                  Be there,
                    THE CAT.
A response to this message from THE CAT from someone close to another goalkeeping legend...possibly....
"My sources from afar have reliably informed me that "The Cat" was
previously known as "The Beached Whale"

After having the pleasure or was it misfortune to turn out in the same team as "The Cat" I can confirm that during the game you will find Dennis floundering on his belly around the penalty box if he strays that far.

As for all his female fans, unfortunatley this year none of them will be able to make the big game as it's pension day and they will all be queing up at the Post Office.

P.S
Iv'e heard of another goalkeeper in the village who lives on Woburn Drive, apparantley his previous name was "The Galloping Gazelle" who now plays with all the grace of a hippo, he does however say he could still teach you young un's a trick or two."

We've had some correspondance regarding Thorney's best fan.

Best Fan, Ben Smith??

Fighting with the opposition when the wizard of the dribble never missed a game in the 60's and 70's. Was even sent fruit and money at the hospital in a get  well card.  His notoriety to fame was when the ref stopped the game Thorney v Celta and sent me off before he would restart the game, thats what you
call a  true fan.  As I said before, the wizard of the dribble also known as the swoop and aub have got our boots and dubbing ready for a recall.  If you have not sorted your nickname out how about the  gunners

The Swoop

Editor's Reply - We at Thorney Football Club do not condone violence neither do we encourage spectators to use threatening language towards the match officials. Ben Smith is considered the current number 1 fan for many reasons not least of which is that he gets the beers in (and usually his threatening behaviour is aimed only at whoever knocks his can of Stella over). As for your playing offer - are you available for a trial? You would be most welcome.
